 United States Non-farm payrolls continues not to disappoint increasing to 304,000 jobs in the month of January 2019.
Todays NFP report,  exceeded the previous month of December 2018 by 37,000 new jobs added to the U.S. jobs market.  Dec 2018 NFP report was revised down by the Labor Department to 277,00 new jobs.  

The January’s NFP job growth crushed the Economist Estimates by  134,000 jobs.  This is the second straight consecutive month of  robust growth within the U.S. Labor Non Farm employment job markets.

Private Non Farm Payrolls increased to 296,000 jobs for the month of January 2019, beating economist forecast by 126,000 jobs.

High Volatility Expected

  • Unemployment ticked up to 4.0% for  month of January 2019, and the number of unemployed increased to 6.6 million people compared to the month of December 2018.   The uptick in unemployment was due to the partial Federal government shut down.  Among the unemployed the number included on temporarily layoff increased 175,000 according to the Household survey data report.  These figures include furloughed employees which classified unemployed on temporarily layoff.

     

  • Private nonfarm payrolls average hourly earning rose by $0.11 to $27.56, which increased over year  by $0.85 or 3.2% .

     

  • According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics employment rose in various sectors of construction, retail trade professional and Business Service, manufacturing, health care,  and  mining.  ADP National employment report: Private sector  increased 213,000 Jobs for the month of January 2019,  NFP numbers also came in the strong compared to the previous six months of consistence NFP job growth.   Payroll employment rose to 2.6 million in 2018, compared to a gain of 2.2 million in 2017.

     

  • Small Business report increased to 63,000 new jobs added to the U.S. Jobs market for the month of (Jan) 2019

     

  • Nonfarm Payrolls measures the change in the number of people employed during the previous month, excluding the farming industry.  Job creation is the foremost indicator of consumer spending, which accounts for the majority of economic activity.
  •  Additionally, according to the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics …The unemployment rates for adults men 3.7%,  adult women 3.6%,  teenagers 12.9%, Whites 3.5%, Blacks 6.8%, Asians 3.1%, and Hispanics 4.9% displayed very little to no change in 0ver the month.
  • Revisions: employment for November was revised up from +176,000 to +196,00, and the change for December was revised down from +310,000 to  +222,000.  With these revisions, employment gain in November and December were combined 70,000 less than previously reported.
