 United States Non-farm payrolls increased to 312,000 jobs in the month of December 2018; with exceeded expectations by 26,000  jobs, according to the U.S. bureau of  Labor Statistics.

  • The unemployment increased to 3.9% for  month of December 2018, while the private nonfarm payrolls average hourly earning rose by $0.11 to $24.7, which increased over year  by $0.82 or 3.2% .
  • According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics employment rose in various sectors of construction, retail trade professional and Business Service, manufacturing, health care,  and  mining.  ADP National employment report: Private sector  increased 271,000 Jobs for the month of December 2018,  NFP numbers also came in the strong compared to the previous six months of consistence NFP job growth.   Payroll employment rose to 2.6 million in 2018, compared to a gain of 2.2 million in 2017. 

 

  • Nonfarm Payrolls measures the change in the number of people employed during the previous month, excluding the farming industry.  Job creation is the foremost indicator of consumer spending, which accounts for the majority of economic activity.
  •  Additionally, according to the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics …The uemployment rates for adults men 3.6%,  adult women 3.5%,  teenagers 12.5%, Whites 3.3%, Blacks 6.6%, Asians 3.3%, and Hispanics 4.4% displayed very little to no change in 0ver the month.
  • Revisions: employment for November was revised up from +155,000 to +176,00, and the change for October was revised up from +237,000 to +274,000.  With these revisions, employment gain in October and November combined were 50,000 more than previously reported.
